I made this last night using several items from the last csa box. To keep it dairy free, I subbed (canned) coconut milk for the heavy cream, and mixed some Miyokos Chive "cream cheese" into the grits before serving (rather than sprinkling goat cheese on top of dish). I also added some chopped roasted shrimp. Delicious! Enjoy!

Thanks Gail! It was yummy. Yes, it is my photo. I did like the addition of basil. it was a nice flavor combination. Of course, you could always sub another herb to your liking.
This looks incredible, Anne! And having had my share of shrimp and grits, I can say that this is the first time I've seen it prepared with corn and okra. It makes perfect and wonderful sense. :) Is this your photo? Did you like the addition of basil?
