I made this last night using several items from the last csa box. To keep it dairy free, I subbed (canned) coconut milk for the heavy cream, and mixed some Miyokos Chive "cream cheese" into the grits before serving (rather than sprinkling goat cheese on top of dish). I also added some chopped roasted shrimp. Delicious! Enjoy!
